Went out for Joes birthday last night, what a bender it was! We started drinking at 5pm (this was after getting hammered on friday also), and went out around 9-9.30 with Connor, Dharms and Cam. Went to baa, way too full, went to Revolution, wouldnt let Connor in cos of boots, went to Loaf, was too expensive, so we ended up in Squares (after being offered a free lapdance  :S ), and just sat in there drinking all night. Made Joe drink 20 shots in a row near enough, was sick all over the tray hah Decided to head back around 2ish, and carried on the drinking in our kitchen, somehow smashed the place up, this morning was terrible though! Alcohol is bad mmkay! Also Matt was a big girl and didnt come out with us after telling us he would, so when we came back his keys were in his door with him and his bird inside, so i opened the door, ran in and jumped on them both haha Was hilarious, although he was none too impressed! Anyway, rock n roll.

Wooo, found out today that i have a Semester 1 average of 60% Very impressed, 79% on Professional Issues and 70 odd percent on HCI too =] All very good indeed, 60% on OSM (linux) also, so its all good. Went to Micro-D and bought a Samsung 2GB pendrive for 12 quid, cannot complain IMO! Also, did a full shop at Asda last night for 20 quid, so im fully fooded and tech’d up for now, which is good cos ive only got 180 quid left!

Yes, the Diabetics Day of Reckoning is once again upon us! Hypoglycemics everywhere are running for their insulin with shell-shocked hands! Ive not been doing much recently, re-installed Ubuntu on my server after it died, moved my PC to my window for better ventilation, and thats pretty much it. Its been pretty boring this past few days. Going Manchester on Friday for Joes birthday, shirting it up right and good like we should Then im back home the weekend after! Laters all.

Well, not blogged in a while so i thought why not. Not been up to much, went to the Pav on tuesday, was a good un. Didnt do anything yday, or today really. Woke up at 3pm, found my ubuntu server was royally borked, so had to reinstall, luckily i backed up last night But reinstalling webmin, samba, etc is a real stone acher! Martin came back, said he found a PC in a bin, which had AMD 64 3800+ chip and a 1GB elixar ram in it Not bad for F all. I had some RAM, and the chip was dead, but a good find i thought lol Anyway, off to drink, i bought some new Peeterman Artois, the new Stella, and its pretty good!

After getting into a debate about religion, i thought i would share my thoughts about it on here.

Religion was an idea created years and years ago to keep people conforming to the social norms of the time by 2 methods, fear and incentive. Fear of the destructive wrath of a so called higher being or a ‘god’, and the incentive that one might actually make it into a place called Heaven (along with its other connotations).
Personally, I believe that when people talk about God, Pray, etc it is another method of meditation (Buddhism basically), and that God is within each and everyone of us. People pray to say ‘Help me with this…’ when they are really meditating in order to sort the problem out in their head for themselves (i know it may be a bit stating-the-obvious…). As a Techie and coming from a Techie background, i always believed the notion of someone ‘out there’ an ‘down there’ was a stupid one, as there was only space and earth underneath/above us. And as a self-confessed narcissist, I could/cant help but feel apprehensive that someone who i cant see/nobody has ever seen could be the answer and creator to so many problems.

Well, at 8pm I started to migrate my 200GB Samsung from my XP Machine into my Server, with the view to formatting it and added some much needed space to it. I took it out, installed XP on a small 30GB Fujitsu demon i got, and the XP machine was working fine (w/o drivers obviously). I then stuck my HDD into my NAS (server), plugged the IDE and Power in, and fired it up. Ubuntu detected nothing, on the Samsung or my Maxtor IDE (which was already in the NAS). Ergo, i thought the Jumpers where the problem (Master – Master problems). After faffing for an hour, Martin said it may be the IDE cable itself only being able to support one HDD, so i got another IDE cable, ran it, and it worked, i then plugged the other HDD, and again, NOTHING. So, i was stumped. Then i thought, IDE – Check, Drivers  – Check, Drives arent Dead – Check. POWER. The ’strand’ i was powering my Maxtor and my SATA off obviously worked fine, but it had no spare molex’s coming off it. I stuck a spare case fan onto the OTHER strand coming out of my PSU to test the power; nothing. Somehow, my PSU has only broken strand. Now to test it wasnt because the HDD needed more power than a fan, i stuck 5, yes 5, case fans, in an extender and plugged it into the strand powering SATA and Maxtor, and all worked fine.

SO;

This leaves me needing one of 2 things :-

1. a 1-2 4pin Molex splitter. Which will allow me to split power off the working strand in order to fire up my Samsung HDD.

OR (god please no..)

2. A better, more power PSU.

Heres to hoping. So ive stuck my Samsung back into my XP Rig, set it as Master again and im back on this again for now (thank god i didnt format this, id of cried…)

Pavvin It Large and In Charge. Good times hah Went out with the boys for the first time in a good few months back to the pav, and all the faces were out. General, Enforcer, Ste, Alan, Dodge, Lara, even saw Pikey! Was a good un hah Ended up getting pissed up and changed tops with Lara for a dare :-

Hah. Shocker eh, ah well you only live once! I dont think i suit pink frilly tops though lol Got up at 10am for my lecture and though ‘ugh no’, and went back to bed, got an email at 12 saying the lecture was cancelled, hah Jackpot. Anyway, off to chill out, laters all.
