Intel Reunion and Fedora 10
Well, since coming back from London ive been a fairly busy little boy – ranging from going home to Lowton, to going to Birmingham and back.
I went home for my brothers 18th party last weekend which was fun, generally just relaxed after the brutal London journey. Came home on the sunday night and had my first week of lectures which was .. introductory, to say the least
Went out with a few uni mates and Matt on Tuesday to the new Lowry bar and the Pav which was fun, ended up having a good night – expensive however (Salford SU is so expensive compared to everyone elses).
The rest of the week was spent messing around with tech – namely operating systems. I installed Fedora 10 as my new main desktop operating system and i am THOROUGHLY impressed – it is a breath of fresh air. It actually “works”, as opposed to previous linux desktop OS – dual monitors is a breeze, as is installing anything – i am so impressed with it. It also has APT and YUM support so you can choose which package manager you want to use. A great alternative to Windows.
Finally, i went to Birmingham at the weekend just gone to see Fran and the intel reunion. Friday night we went for a pizza express followed by a film and some cake/wine in bed! Saturday we went to meet the Intel lot – and watched the film “hes just not into you” or w/e – it is the most boring film in the world, do not go and watch whatever you do! Saturday night we went out with the Intel lot – first to Preenas flat then off out to a club called RISA – quite a nice place but wayyyy too expensive – wasnt impressed.
Sunday was spent still suffering from my deathly man flu caused by the snow and crap weather in general – including a brutal train journey home while i felt like death warmed up (fever!). A fun weekend though – and i get to see Fran again in 4 days time as shes coming up for Valentines / my dads birthday.
Sam
